How I discover new websites these days

Most of the stuff on search engines is AI-generated garbage (specially tutorials) or ads. Occasionally I find someone’s blog, where there’s actually good content, but this is the exception.

Nowadays this is the way I discover most new websites:

  1. Someone on the internet shares a useful article and I read it.
  2. I go to the author’s home page or blog.
  3. Visit the links on their posts.
  4. Go to step 2.

Isn’t this the way you were supposed to use the internet in the 90’s?

I think personal websites are making a comeback. It’s always where the best insights and nuggets of wisdom are found.
